Comparison
WhaBuzz vs Infobip
Infobip is a global omnichannel communications platform that prices WhatsApp through custom plans and does not publish its fee. WhaBuzz is a WhatsApp-only API with a public flat fee of ₹500 a month for the first number and ₹250 for each after. Infobip is better for omnichannel flows, bots and enterprise support. WhaBuzz is better when you want a published price and Meta's own API bodies.
How do WhaBuzz and Infobip compare?
| WhaBuzz | Infobip | |
|---|---|---|
| Who bills Meta's charges | Meta bills you directly, on your own Meta account | Not published on its pricing page |
| Markup on Meta's rate | None | Not published |
| Provider's own fee | ₹500 a month for the first number, ₹250 for each after, plus 18% GST. Nothing per message | Not published. "Contact sales" for custom pricing |
| API shape | Meta's Cloud API bodies, unchanged | Own endpoint (/whatsapp/1/message/template) with a messages array and templateName |
| Webhook signing and retries | HMAC-SHA256 X-WhaBuzz-Signature, retries for up to 24 hours, replay for 30 to 365 days | HMAC among built-in authentication options. Up to 20 retries, last at 41 hours 30 minutes; after that events are lost |
| Scope | API only: no inbox, campaign builder or chatbot builder | Omnichannel platform; its site menu lists an AI chatbot builder, orchestration tools and a cloud contact centre |
| Region and data residency | Data stored in Cloudflare's Asia-Pacific region | At least two locations each in USA, EU, India and Southeast Asia |
| Pricing transparency | Flat fee on the pricing page | No figures on the pricing page; calculator and detailed pricing not shown in text |
WhatsApp is charged per message. Each type of message template and free-form message has its price.
Per Infobip's pricing page, that is the whole of the public statement: no amounts appear in the page text, and it does not say who pays Meta's fees. Its WhatsApp page says pricing depends on message type, region and conversation category. For a published reference, Meta's own India rate card (effective 1 Oct 2026) lists utility messages at ₹0.115 and marketing at ₹0.8631 (Meta's pricing page). Ask Infobip whether those are passed through at cost.
Per Infobip's webhooks page, retries follow "1 min + (1 min × retryNumber²)", with a maximum of 20 and the last retry 41 hours 30 minutes after the first attempt. That is a longer window than WhaBuzz's 24 hours. Infobip's page also says that if your endpoint is down for the full period, events "are lost and cannot be recovered". WhaBuzz keeps events for replay within your retention period (30, 90, 180 or 365 days; default 90).
When should you pick Infobip?
Pick Infobip if you need more than a WhatsApp API. Its site menu lists an AI chatbot builder, orchestration tools, a customer data platform and a cloud contact centre, and its WhatsApp page mentions campaigns and live-agent handoff. WhaBuzz has none of these.
Pick Infobip if you serve many regions. Its infrastructure page lists at least two locations in each of USA, EU, India and Southeast Asia, with data stored locally. Its WhatsApp page cites 24/7 support and 99.9% uptime; WhaBuzz went live on 16 Oct 2026 and publishes a 99.9% target on its reliability page, not a record.
Pick Infobip if you want an account team, negotiated terms and one vendor for SMS, voice, email and WhatsApp.
When should you pick WhaBuzz?
Pick WhaBuzz if you want to know the price before a sales call: ₹500 a month for the first number, ₹250 for each after, excluding 18% GST, with a 14-day trial. See pricing.
Pick it if your team writes code against Meta's Cloud API docs and wants those request and response bodies unchanged, with Meta's errors in error, with source: "meta" and a request_id on every response. Pick it for idempotent sends and webhooks that carry dedupe_key and seq: see idempotency and the webhook reliability post.

How do you move from Infobip to WhaBuzz?
Check who owns the WhatsApp Business Account. If it is in your Meta Business Manager, WhaBuzz connects to it directly and approved templates sync across; if Infobip owns it, ask for a transfer or use Meta's number migration. The migration guide lists the steps. It names Plivo and WATI, but the same steps apply to any provider.
The code changes are two. Replace Infobip's messages array with Meta's body, and replace its delivery reports with WhaBuzz's signed events. Infobip features that live outside the API, such as bots, flows and contact lists, do not move. Keep contact and opt-out state in your own system, as WhaBuzz does not manage opt-outs. Message history stays with Infobip.
